New release
Well it seems as though our even-numbered releases are cursed to be delayed. PBP005 (DYS - Andspyrna), however, is out now. We will have it for sale at the show tomorrow. Buy, buy, buy. It's really good.

Sex/VId
I like this band almost as much as it is difficult to google their live videos...
here's a clip from a house-show they played in Olympia. Watch it and wish you were there. I will see this band one day, that's a promise.
also, lol at the first guy's comment where he accurately, but disappointedly, points out that the video in question "isn't a sex vid".

Fuck!
So, maybe I'm arrogant.
But, people throw that word around without a moment's thought. So what if I don't relate?! And what if I don't even like you? Does that mean I think I'm better than you? Fuck no! I never claimed ownership of any scene. I never said I knew any better than anyone else. But, this thing means the world to me, so, how the fuck can people expect me to act casually about the things I find fucked up around here. We don't have to agree, but don't expect me to keep my mouth shut.

If you can save yourself...
I don't have many friends but I know a lot of people and I think a lot about those people. Most of them aren't close to me in any way; they don't frequent the same places as I do, they don't share my interests, they're not really a part of my world. I think about them quite a bit because they fascinate me... and scare me a little bit too. Some people's habits and interests are so alien to me that they might as well be a different race and in a strange way they are. Not biologically speaking, of course, but what are we if not our tastes, talents and opinions? I've found a stronger bond with someone who lives thousands of miles away who I've met once than with someone I shared every single day with for 10 years. Although these kind of people occupy my mind from time to time they're nothing like the people who are closer to me, my familiar strangers if you like. These are the people who claim to share my goals and passion and yet they're never pissed off, agitated or overly excited about anything... at least not when I communicate with them, which is always in punk-related environments. It always seems to me that they have never understood punk for the threat it really is and if that's the truth I can't wait 'till they grow out of it.
What a bunch of fucking idiots.
-----------------------------------------
This weekend will hopefully give birth to two very exciting projects; one is highly experimental and the other one is raging. We'll be able to give you details on the fruits, or failures, of these projects sooner than later. I can't wait and neither can you.

An interview with the punks
We got interviewed by Halifax Collect. Check it out.
Most of us who are involved in PBP have been hung up on Tear It Up lately. I gotta say, these dudes had it going on. I mean besides the riffs and song structure or whatever. They had an energy about them. They weren't original but they were unique none the less. I get so fucking pumped up when listening to the Nothing to Nothing LP (well, I only have it on CD, which kinda sucks). It feels as if they were inside my stereo tearing it apart. Definitely one of the best hardcore outfits of all time.

If you don't have this, find it, buy it, love it.

Skammdegi
Here's a TENTACLES OF DOOM song that didn't make it on to the EP. It sounds a little different from the EP since it's rough mixed and barely mastered. Also the guitar sound was much more distorted on this song for some unknown reason and we had mixed opinions on whether it sounded awesome or lame, so we decided to leave it out. The song is called Skammdegi and here are the lyrics:
I'm listening to Masshysteri's Vår Del Av Stan LP right now. It's so amazing. Everyone should get it. It was released on Feral Ward and Ny Våg last year. One of 2008's best records in my opinion, although that year saw the release of a lot of really, really good records.
Allt sem gott er tekur enda
Og allir munu á endanum
Fella lauf og fölna
Hverfa á braut með vetrinum
Örvæntingin tekur völdin
Ég held fast í þessa stund
Úti í hagléli og kulda
Bara á bolnum og stuttbuxum
Segðu mér, svo að ég sofni
Að sólin rísi á nýjan leik
Því ég er orðinn þreytt
Á að vera sem lifandi lík

A little something.
To celebrate the release of the new EP Tentacles of Doom played somewhat of a pre-release show in my living room a couple of weeks ago and it was awesome. It was also Bummers first show. But more about that later. The release show was last night at the DMSS rehearsal space and it was hot and great.
Here's a video from the living room show.

TENTACLES OF DOOM release show
Next Tuesday (July 2nd) TENTACLES OF DOOM will celebrate it's second CDEP release, Dansað við lík, which will come out on PBP that very same day (woah!). The EP contains 6 tracks, in just over 20 minutes, of lo-fi melodic punk rock, influenced by the likes of Wipers, Wire, Husker Du, Vonbrigði, X and Purrkur pillnikk. Grindcore youngsters LOGN and Husker Du wannabes THE DEATHMETAL SUPERSQUAD will join them on the bill. The show will be held at TÞM (practice space #12) and will begin at 8 pm. Free entry. The CD will be sold for 500 kr.
